We were asked to wait near the shoe section, and then the interviewer called out names. There were about 4 of us girls there. She split us into pairs and interviewed us together in a small, employee-only room in the back. She asked maybe 5 or 6 questions, though I can't recall them all. At the end, we had to write down our availability. This job needs a lot of flexibility because the amount of merchandise varies, and you need to be able to carry at least 30 pounds. Hours can be from 4 am to 9 pm, and sometimes you might need to stay overnight. I asked about the pay, and she said it depends on the offer when they call.

I applied in person at the store, made sure to introduce myself to the manager and shook their hand. I got a call after they processed my application and then had an interview. During the interview, everyone else was late and the manager asked me a few questions. I was really passionate about working there so she immediately liked me. I was able to give specific examples of skills I had that they needed and achievements from previous jobs, like being a cashier. I also talked about my leadership abilities, which helped my interview.

I went to Forever 21 and asked to speak with a manager. The assistant manager was available and looked at my resume right then. She mentioned I seemed like a good fit and asked me some basic questions about customer service and my availability. Then, she gave me a paper application to complete. Filling out the application was quick because my resume already had most of the info. Once I submitted the application, she gave me a New Hire packet.
