First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Forensic Risk Alliance.
Analyst
I first chatted with two people who work there, one junior and one mid-level. They were both really friendly and enthusiastic, and they were happy to tell me about the job and the company, and also to learn about me. After that, I had interviews with a partner and the hiring manager, who were also great to talk with and gave me a lot of good information.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- What experience do you have with quantitative skills?
Accounting and Business Analyst
They took 2 weeks to set up the interview. The first person I talked to was super friendly and tried hard to connect. The second interviewer, who seemed like the main decision-maker, hit me with a lot of basic and behavioral questions I hadn't prepared for. I mentioned I'm proficient in most data collecting and analysis software. Two weeks later, I was rejected for not knowing one specific, easy data collecting tool, basically like Excel. I felt the second interviewer wasn't really into me and used that as a reason to pass. It felt like a really high bar for an internship, honestly.
- How have you handled team conflicts before?
- Describe a recent work experience.
- What tools do you use for data collection and analysis?
Associate
This interview process has been dragging on for over a month. It started with a phone call with HR and then had two in-person interviews. It's been really disorganized, with the interviewer being late and unprepared. We weren't kept in the loop about important interview details or updates, and had to chase for results and feedback, but HR never responded. The candidate experience was basically non-existent, especially considering we take time off work for these stages. At the very least, they should let unsuccessful candidates know and thank them. I'd advise staying away from this company; they still feel like a startup and aren't professional. If you're at a big 4, don't move for this. The process felt like 3-4 stages.
- What makes you choose FRA over other firms, and how is FRA different?
- In what ways does FRA distinguish itself from competitors?
Manager
I had a phone interview, then I went to their DC office for in-person interviews. It was really disorganized, some interviewers didn't even know they were supposed to meet me. One partner was super arrogant and talked down to me. They seemed really focused on my accounting background and didn't ask anything to understand me as a person, which is a shame because I have a lot more to offer. It felt like they just want people to do the work, like a Big 4 firm. The fact that interviewers didn't know they were meeting me shows they don't value employees, just want work done. I thought this company was fun and growing, but it seems to have changed.
- Can you describe your accounting experience?
