Marketing Content Manager
A recruiter from ForeFront reached out to me via email. After I replied, she promptly set up a phone interview to go over the details of the position. Following that, I had interviews with three important managers, one of whom was the president. The whole process, from the first contact to the offer, took about two weeks.
- What are some key questions related to the responsibilities of this role?
- Can you share questions that help understand my personality and how I'd fit into the company and its culture?
Office Assistant
I put in my application a while back. They got back to me pretty quickly after I submitted my resume, which was good. Then I had a phone interview. The person I spoke with was very nice and easy to talk to. The job sounded pretty basic for someone with a degree and prior admin experience, so I felt I was definitely qualified. She said she'd email me about what's next in a few days. I emailed her back with my availability, and she again said she'd be in touch about the next steps. But then I never heard back, so I guess they hired someone else.
- How do you feel about working in a team environment?
- What aspect of teamwork do you find most challenging?
- What are your salary expectations for this role?
Project Assistant
I first talked to a recruiter on the phone for about 30 minutes, and it went pretty well. Then I went in for an in-person interview which was longer, about two hours. I met with four people. First was the recruiter again, who was really nice and gave me a lot of info about the new position. Then I met with one of the owners I'd be working with closely, managing her schedule and doing client research. She talked about her goals and the company's growth. After that, I met the other owner. He was kind of insulting and asked personal questions, like 'What makes you think you'd be good at something you've never done?' and made comments about my goals not connecting to my experience. He didn't seem to have read my resume. Finally, I spoke with the General Counsel, who asked standard questions, and I was a bit tired by then. She talked about her work with contracts and the employee handbook. The recruiter then came back, clarified my salary needs, asked about travel, and requested references. She mentioned I'd meet developers next time. I got an email two weeks later saying it wasn't a good fit, and my references confirmed they weren't contacted.
- Regarding your past aspirations, what changed?
- Could you tell me about your parents' occupations?
- What's the reason for the lack of promotions during your time at your current job?
Business Analyst
I was referred, and management had heard good things about me. The interview focused more on personality and culture fit than specific skills. They hired me on the spot after the first in-person interview. The managing partner asked me questions in Spanish since my resume mentioned Spanish proficiency.
- Do you speak Spanish?
