The initial phase involved a personality test and a basic problem-solving assessment. The HR screener sent five emails after I gave my availability for a 30-minute call. One email had a link to a Word document for me to complete beforehand, but it wouldn't open on my iPad. The other four were calendar invites for the same time, which was strange. I didn't finish the document before the call. The screener was fine with this and asked me to complete it afterward, stating we'd review it during the interview. He also asked me to hold all my questions until the end, and mentioned the interview was being recorded. He asked me specific questions about exact dates of past jobs and my responsibilities in those roles. After the interview, he mentioned that if I were selected, I'd need to spend two months in the field learning from installers before potentially becoming a project manager, a role I've held for 20 years. He then said he'd send a list of tools I'd need to buy myself for this field training, even though I already own them. He later sent a message saying they were proceeding with candidates who had more experience. This process felt very similar to an interview I had with them in 1993. They have a very rigid interview process. I'm not sure it's a fun place to work.

Behavioral Technical Other

So there were two interviews. The first was a phone call, about 15 minutes, basically to see if we'd vibe and if I wasn't a total weirdo. Then for the second one, I had to go to their office. There, I did a timed typing test, a timed math test, and a timed personality test. After that, my recruiter took me to a room where two senior managers were waiting. The recruiter left, and it was just me and them. Then another manager joined on Skype, so there were three people interviewing me. They asked me about my hobbies and general background, plus some technical questions. They also explained my duties and what engineering area I'd fit into, like design, production, or sales.

I sent in my resume and they got back to me via email. They called me the next day for a quick 20-minute chat. It was a chill conversation where they told me more about the role, what they're looking for, and how I could grow in the company.
