Technical Coding

Recruiter and hiring manager seemed out of sync. Initial screening call had thorough questions. Then got a coding exercise for nodejs and sql, asked to submit via github for HM assessment. Did it in one go. After submission, asked for availability for the next round, a walkthrough/deep dive of the exercise, and then other rounds. Next day, received an email saying they are moving on with other candidates. Asked for a reason for the sudden change, since I was already a couple of steps in, but got no clear explanation, just bogus reasoning. Confusing why they'd assign a 30-40 min assessment if the HM/team wasn't on board. Total waste of time.

After I applied, I got this one-way pre-recorded interview request really quickly. I was a bit worried about it, and unfortunately, it felt like a waste of my time. I don't think anyone even watched it because I never heard back.

Behavioral Technical

So there were four steps in the interview process. First, I had to do a video interview where I recorded myself answering some questions like what are my strengths and how I would deal with an angry customer. Then I had a phone call with HR. They asked similar questions about my background and what I could contribute to the company. After that, I interviewed with the team lead and the manager. They asked the same kinds of questions. Finally, I had an interview with the head of the call center, and it was more of the same questions. The interviews were okay, but honestly, they were super repetitive.

Behavioral Technical

I went through 4 rounds of interviews, including the initial screening, all via Teams and lasting about 30 minutes each. They were mostly conversational and pretty easy. The part I didn't like was the way they handled the offer. On October 7th, they sent a sort of offer saying they chose someone else for the original role but wanted to create a new one for me because they liked me. They said they'd let me know the details within a week, but they never did. I followed up on October 16th about the status, and it turned into a back-and-forth where they wouldn't really reject me but also wouldn't offer me a job. I felt like I was being strung along when I asked if I'd be hired. Finally, on October 22nd, they told me to wait until January. Now that it's January, I emailed again, and they told me the position is closed and they have no idea if it will ever open up. Even though I enjoyed the conversations and the interview process itself up to that point, and I still think Forbright seems like a great place to work, I found their lack of commitment, communication, and clarity really unprofessional.
