First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Foothill-De Anza Community College District.
Enrollment Specialist
Candidates were invited to an interview with a panel. Written questions were given, and then I was interviewed by the panel. After the interview, I waited about a week to find out if I was hired.
- What strategies do you use to keep clients from leaving?
ESL Instructor
I was called to set up an in-person interview. When I got there, I had 30 minutes to grade a student essay and prep for the interview questions. A panel of 4 people interviewed me. My teaching demo was only 15 minutes. The interview was supposed to be an hour but I was out in about 35 minutes, even after asking my own questions about the job.
- How do you teach the connection between reading and writing?
Vice Chancellor of Technology
The hiring and interview process for this position was very elaborate, but extremely professional. The search firm engaged by the district was one of the best with which I have worked. The initial search committee interview was concise, relevant, and an effective two-way interchange. The second level interview, which included public forums, was an effective way for the broader campus community to get to know the candidates and vice versa.
- How would you address and resolve the aspects of our institution that are currently unsatisfactory?
Member Of Technical Staff
There were multiple interview levels and a committee process. The interviews are guided by the collective bargaining units, depending on what type of position you are applying for. The interviews are in person, and travel is not covered.
- Can you share your experience relevant to this role?
