First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Foothill College.
Admin Assistant
It was a pretty standard process. The hardest part was just finding parking and then the building itself, which is typical for college campuses. They set up the interview over email, and then I went in person. They skipped the usual phone calls and got straight to the point.
- Can you describe how you manage your tasks independently?
Faculty
We had two interviews for this position. The first one was with the search committee, and we had about 30 minutes to prepare for 10 questions. If you did well enough, you'd move on to the second interview with the committee and the president. That's how they picked the top 5 candidates.
- Can you explain the difference between equity and equality?
- Describe your experience working in a team environment.
Teaching Assistant
It was pretty smooth and they asked about why do you want in this industry. They looked through some transcripts and work experience, and allowed me to participate in a class setting.
- Why would you like to work at this college?
- Tell me about your transcripts and work experience.
- How would you teach a class?
Administrative Assistant
My interview got rescheduled a few times by the department. It involved a quick 10-minute email exercise and then a panel interview with three people. The Dean said he'd reply within 1.5 weeks but didn't. Very unprofessional, and no replies to my follow-up emails.
- What makes this role appealing to you?
