First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Foodland.
Cashier
The interview process was good and very professional. I had a wonderful experience overall and after the interview too. Referrals aren't needed; they hire based on merit.
- Tell me about your past work experience.
- Describe a customer service situation using STAR.
- Questions about how you handle customers.
Stock Associate
The interview was straightforward and not complicated. They asked basic questions about unloading trucks and stocking shelves. No experience was needed for this job. I got the job offer right after the interview.
- Were you able to lift 50 pounds.
Cashier
There was just one interview with a cash manager and supervisor. Lots of people said they hired whoever they interviewed, but that wasn't the case for cash positions because they had a specific look they wanted and only hired boys if they didn't have any girl resumes.
- Are you looking for long-term employment here?
- What are your plans after high school?
Grocery Clerk
The interview process was pretty easy and the manager was nice. I sent in my application online and heard back in a few days to set up an in-person interview. The manager asked me simple questions about when I can work, if I had any past jobs, and how I am with customers. It took about 20 minutes and felt pretty chill. They also asked me some questions about what I'd do in certain situations, like dealing with difficult customers or when it's really busy. The whole thing was quick and felt professional.
- How would you handle a customer who is upset because an item is out of stock?
