So I had a phone interview with a technical recruiter first, and then they brought me in for a face-to-face with the hiring manager. That meeting was about 40 minutes long. After that, the manager gave me an assignment to create some scripts using NightWatch. I finished the task pretty quickly and sent it back to the technical recruiter within the deadline. Haven't heard anything back since, and my calls and emails haven't been returned.

I had two great interview rounds with the product team. After that, my interview with the CEO was set up. But there was some miscommunication from the recruiter, and the interview was scheduled a week late. It never happened though, because they decided to go with other candidates. It was a strange process. I mean, why would a company do a second round of interviews if they weren't pretty sure about a candidate, only to reject them halfway through? You're supposed to fill out an employment application after the second round and before the CEO interview. The general vibe is good, and even though you interview for one role, they expect you to work across multiple roles without any extra pay.

The hiring process took several weeks. I talked with the part-time HR rep, CEO, CMO, and Director of Marketing. It started with a phone interview, then a formal in-person interview with the CMO and then the CEO. The following week, I interviewed with the DM. The interviews gave me a feel for the company's startup culture and showed me that the leadership team had different views and expectations for the role.
