First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fontana.
Community Services Assistant
The interview process was very friendly and not too stressful. Just be yourself and be honest. They ask questions about your past and what makes you a great fit for the position. Pretty basic interview questions and some character questions as well. You got this!
- In what ways do you envision yourself taking the lead of a team?
Customer Service Associate
I applied for this job over two years ago. I got the application from the city employers website, filled it out, and turned it in to the city's Human Resources Department. I got a call back pretty soon after and was scheduled for an interview at the job site pretty quickly too. They have an assessment test now that you have to pass to get an interview, but I didn't have to do that part.
- Could you share an instance where you had to handle an upset customer and explain how you managed it?
Engineering
I had a 15-minute chat with two folks from engineering. They mostly asked about my background, what I've done before, and my education. They also asked why I was interested in the job. No technical stuff at all. It seemed like they were interviewing other folks that day too. The whole thing was pretty straightforward and nice.
- What made you choose to study engineering?
- Tell me about your background.
- What's your previous experience?
Lifeguard
The interview process is a bit of a hassle, but you're applying to be a lifeguard. It includes skill tests like CPR, backboarding, and saves. You'll also do a 'crucible,' which is just over a 500m swim with up and outs – it's not too difficult. After that, there will be interview questions covering your aquatic experiences and how you'd handle hypothetical scenarios.
- Tell me about your aquatic background.
