First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fogo de Chão.
Server
It was a pretentious interview. The managers were rude and condescending. They made me wait for the interview even though I was on time and could see a manager eating. They came to greet me with food still in their mouths. You should plan accordingly. Fast fine dining is a joke. This location won’t succeed. Good luck. The interview was confusing regarding roles, and they didn’t elaborate on the roles.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
Busser
The interview process was really fast. They asked behavior questions and how I work on in a team. It was really just a vibe check. They asked me about my greatest strengths and greatest weaknesses. They also asked me where I prefer to work in the restaurant, for example, in the back or in the front.

Bartender
I applied for a bartender job. The process involved three interviews, which I felt was excessive. The initial interview mainly involved them taking down my contact information, informing me that bartenders are hired as servers first, and asking me to return the next day. During the second interview, they questioned my knowledge of cocktail preparation, specifically asking how to make a Negroni and the origin of Grey Goose. I was then instructed to attend a third interview, with the interviewer stating that three interviews are standard practice, implying it's a simple process. I opted not to attend the third interview and was hired immediately elsewhere.
- Can you tell me how to make a Negroni?
- Do you know the origin of Grey Goose vodka?
Server
The interview process was great. They ask a lot of questions, mostly about your past experience and what you'd bring to the restaurant. They also explain the tipping system, noting that tips are pooled and you only receive a certain percentage of your total earnings.

- What do you bring to the restaurant?
