First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fogo de Chão Churrascaria.
Hostess
The interview at Fogo de Chão was really simple. The manager talked to me about my previous jobs, when I can work, and my reasons for wanting to join them. It was more like a chat than a serious interview. They explained what the job involves, what's expected, and what a normal shift is like. The vibe was chill, not tense. If you're friendly, honest, and can handle a busy place, the whole process feels easy and comfortable.
- Do you have a dependable way to get around?
Server
The interview process was quite straightforward. They were mainly interested in understanding the type of worker I am, and based on that, they decided to hire me. It really boils down to your interpersonal skills and how you manage conversations.
- Could you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Social Media Manager
I had a weird interview. Instead of going upstairs, I waited in the lobby. The interview was in a private conference room. The person currently in the role is moving to another department soon. The interviewer only had their phone and coffee, and only checked their phone once to see the time. It was strange they didn't take notes, even if they weren't interested. The experience was fine, but I feel like it was a waste of my time.
- What do you think we do well on social media, and where do you see room for improvement?
Customer Service Representative
First, you send in your application and resume when a job opening appears. This goes to the General Manager who then forwards it to corporate. You'll need to chat with the GM about your motivation for the role, how your past experience aligns with the position's requirements, and why you believe you'll be an asset to the restaurant. After corporate, the managers, and the District Manager greenlight the position, they'll look over and discuss the applicants. Following that, you'll have an interview with the General Manager, potentially one with Human Resources, and another with the District Manager. If you're already familiar with the company from previous employment, the process is smoother compared to external candidates. Once they make their decision, they'll inform you and announce it to the staff.
- Tell me about your experience that makes you a strong candidate for this role.
