First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FLYR.
Data Scientist
It started with a phone interview where they asked some basic questions. They wanted to know how I'd rate my SQL and Python skills and if I knew anything about the company.
- Do you know about our company?
Data Scientist
I applied and heard back from the recruiter within a week. The process included an HR interview, an HM interview, a coding and ML interview, a discussion on ML and stats, and then another HM interview. The technical rounds didn't dive too deep into ML or code, but were pretty broad, with an easy-to-medium LeetCode coding challenge. The technical part wrapped up within two weeks, but then I was left waiting for over a month with no updates, just told by the recruiter to wait. Finally, I was told the interviews went well, but they went with an internal candidate. It's a bummer, especially after such a long wait with no info.
- Can you describe a project you've previously worked on?
- Tell me about your experience with deep neural networks.
- Could you discuss ML/stats concepts related to your areas of expertise?
Data Scientist
I had a home assignment and a technical phone call. The hiring process was relatively smooth. They asked some practical and theoretical questions about Data Science. There was one call with the hiring manager to assess culture fit and background fit. The questions were relatively easy.
- Can you tell me about your Deep Learning experience?
