The process was super communicative and quick. Started with a recruiter call, then I chatted with the hiring manager, and after that, I met some of the team members I would have been working with. Didn't end up getting an offer, but they were good about keeping me informed the whole way.

I applied online and the hiring manager reached out to schedule an interview. The first interview was a 1-hour Zoom call split between the hiring manager and their boss. They asked things like "Why Fluent?", "Why this team?", and "What do you know about us?". It was pretty casual, more of a chat. A few days later, I heard back about the next step. This round involved a 5-10 minute presentation on a passion of mine, followed by a Q&A, with about 5-7 other employees present. The call felt a bit off from the start, with people seeming disengaged, especially those not on the core team. I gave my presentation and was asked "how would you apply this passion to the team?" and about data trends related to my passion. After those two questions, there was silence, and no one had any further questions. The interview wrapped up in about 12 minutes, which felt disorganized given the promised Q&A time. It seemed like people had other priorities. I sent a thank you note but didn't hear back. After following up 1.5 weeks later, I received an impersonal rejection email. My request for feedback went unanswered. The process started well but ended negatively.

The interview process began with a Zoom screening with a recruiter that went well, and I was then invited to a second interview with the hiring manager. However, during the second interview, it was evident that the hiring manager didn't think I was qualified, and I ended up agreeing with that assessment. The hiring manager was late, seemed unprepared with no clear interview structure or specific questions, and frequently had awkward silences, not reacting to what I said and appearing distracted. I was informed that if I had advanced, there would have been more interview rounds and a take-home assignment. The overall experience was negative due to a mismatch between the recruiter's expectations (and the job listing) and the hiring manager's requirements.

I had an interview with the Head of Talent. He was 15 minutes late to greet me and bring me to the interview room. He barely apologized. I would have expected someone in his position to value the candidate experience more than he did. This was my first impression of the company and it was not a good one. No one in the lobby tried to help me. I wasn’t even offered a glass of water before, during, or after the interview.
