The interview process was good, and I felt well-treated and respected by everyone. It was a full-day event that included a nice lunch and opportunities to have good conversations with faculty members. The most challenging interview was with the provost, so I recommend being well-prepared for some tough questions there.

It started with a virtual meeting with the search committee. After that, I was invited for a campus visit. I had a few meetings with faculty and leadership. Some of the faculty members seemed disengaged or didn't attend the meetings. Some other employees didn't seem very excited about their jobs. Overall, it didn't feel like a place I'd want to work.

The interview was held over Microsoft Teams, and people wore business casual attire. I met with the Director of Admissions, the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, and the Enrollment Data Analyst. We talked about my past work, and I also had to show a portfolio or dashboard I made using PowerBI or Tableau. They were also interested in my Salesforce experience, plus my ability to forecast, calculate projections, and my knowledge of Java, Python, and machine learning. It was harder than I thought it would be.

It started with a phone chat and then an in-person meeting. You need to get a feel for the university and what the hiring committee is looking for. Also, check out the faculty and their research. Figure out how you'd fit in and how you can work with them on ongoing projects. And, bring some new research ideas that would align with the university's aims and what the current faculty are doing.
