First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute.
Patient Service Representative
I had a face-to-face interview. They seemed really thoughtful and professional. The interview felt super relaxed and it was easy to connect with the interviewers. It felt like they genuinely care about both the people they serve and their staff.
- Can you tell me about a weakness you have?
Patient Service Specialist
I got to the interview 10 minutes before my scheduled time. The receptionist acknowledged my arrival and said they'd let the interviewer know. However, I wasn't seen for another 50 minutes, which was 40 minutes past my appointment. Just as I was about to leave, the interviewer came out. They then mentioned they hadn't reviewed my resume or experience, which was quite unusual given the situation. The atmosphere felt rushed and strange. They spent the entire time explaining how their office operates and barely asked me any questions about myself or my background, despite my relevant experience for the role. Subsequently, they introduced me to other staff members who also appeared unengaged. One of them posed an impromptu question, seemingly as a test, related to their specific office procedures. I couldn't provide the answer they expected, and they reacted with visible dissatisfaction before exiting. It was unprofessional to show such a negative attitude towards someone who prepared, took time off work, is qualified, and presented professionally. I realized the job wasn't going to be mine long before the interview concluded, reflecting the office's overall atmosphere. A surprisingly disappointing experience.
- What makes you want to join this company?
Posting Department
I applied on the website and got an automated email. I knew someone there and they gave me the regional manager's email, so I applied through them too. I got a call for an interview the same day. I was early and had to take a skills test. Then I waited over an hour to be seen and they apologized saying it was 'crazy.' Then I had a second interview with the office manager, which was really laid back and felt like just chatting. After that, I got an email for a drug test location. A few days later, HR called and offered me the job with salary info.
- Given the sensitive nature of dealing with cancer, how would you approach the emotional challenges involved?
Client Services Manager
I was contacted via phone by HR after applying. After a quick phone interview, I went in for an in-person interview. The in-person interview included meeting with 3 people from my potential team and then an unexpected interview with the company's CMSO. After the interviews, I was contacted about an offer, signed paperwork, completed a drug/nicotine screening, and started the job. The process was fast, very informative, and we negotiated an agreement quickly.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to manage and prioritize multiple urgent tasks. What was your approach?
