Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Flight Services International.
Flight Attendant
The interview process was excellent and swift. They invest significant effort in selecting hires, making it feel less like an interview and more like a chance to connect. I felt genuinely welcomed and integrated into the team.
- Could you share what your objective is for this role?
Flight Attendant
It started with a quick phone chat, and then I was invited to an open house event in Houston. Just a heads up, they don't provide any travel for this. The event kicked off with a short presentation about the company, followed by a group activity. It's really important to focus on teamwork and not be too pushy about your ideas. Also, having some common sense goes a long way. After the group task, they provided lunch, during which they called people in for one-on-one interviews. While you're eating, you'll also get a bunch of forms to complete for the background check and other pre-employment stuff. The individual interviews were with at least one manager and one flight attendant.
- Hypothetically, if you were promoted to Purser (Lead Flight Attendant) during your very first flight, how would you handle it?
Flight Attendant
I applied about three weeks before I met them in person. I received a phone call interview and then after passing that, I was invited to an all-day interview from 9 am to 5 pm in Houston. Check-in started at 8:30 am. A presentation about the company started at 9 am. Then after the presentation, we were separated into groups and had a group activity. This activity is just supposed to be a fun, interactive experience. After the group activity, we had lunch catered by the hotel, and then we filled out some information about ourselves while we waited for our one-on-one interview. Basically, the whole day is an interview, but everyone was so nice and friendly. The experience was great! Just be yourself! I really think all the negative reviews were for people who were not cut out for this job. All day, the recruiting team really emphasized thinking about whether you could be gone for many days away from family and friends. I'm still waiting to hear back, but overall I had no negative thoughts about this company. Everyone was so welcoming and very transparent about how hard this job can be sometimes.
- Questions about customer service and your resume
Flight Attendant
Applied online. Had a phone interview that took place between 9am and 3pm. Then there was a group interview in Houston, TX. It started with a presentation. After that, we did a group activity and filled out paperwork. During the paperwork, they held individual interviews. Three employees/recruiters interviewed us. It was a very pleasant afternoon. Everyone was helpful and happy.
