The interview process was disappointing and unprofessional. I had an initial phone screening for an internal role at FlexTrades. If the interview experience with the recruiter is an indicator of how this business operates, I am thankful the process did not go further.

The first interview was to check if I understood the position and if I was qualified. The second interview went into more detail about the job description and expectations, and asked more about my background. I got an offer and accepted, and was asked my start date. I said I needed to check with my family, and within 2 hours the job was given to someone else.

This was by far one of the worst interview experiences that I've ever had over my professional career. For one, the recruiter was not personable and her energy shifted once she realized that I was a POC. When the salary topic arose, they asked what my salary expectations were--I asked for a budget and was told that they'd have to "find out the information" as if anyone would believe that an HR/Hiring team isn't aware of that from the beginning. There was this awkward silence before the next question. When I asked about diversity within the organization, instead of being clear and stating that this is an area of opportunity, which it clearly was-instead, the response was that a "system to track hiring practices proved that it's equal"--but once again, not answering the question and being transparent. I was beyond qualified for this position. Total waste of time. Do better.

I was reached out to by phone about an internal recruiting job. I had a quick chat with the recruiter about my current role and the opening. After I got my questions answered, I decided to go in for an interview. The interview was with the branch manager and recruiting manager, and they asked me typical questions about myself and explained the job duties. After the interview, a background check happened, and then I accepted the job offer.
