It was a long process, spanning from initial contact through a Skype interview and then a 3-hour onsite interview with two interviewers. I'm a seasoned manager with strong interpersonal abilities. I felt the interviews went really well, but it was strange not to get an offer. It makes me wonder if they weren't actually looking for experienced candidates, and if so, why go through a 3-week process?

I was initially contacted by a recruiter a few months back, but the timing wasn't right. When the timing improved, the recruiter reached out again. The process then involved an onsite interview with three team members. I was really impressed with how Flexport shared information about the company, its culture, and operations, which helped me decide if it was the right place for me. The team had great energy, and I felt comfortable throughout. They answered all my questions thoroughly and even provided a helpful brief about what to expect on the day of the onsite, showing great attention to detail. They seem to prioritize making candidates feel comfortable. However, a point for improvement would be better follow-up after the onsite. I was told I'd hear back soon, and then again the following week, but I never did. Post-interview feedback is important, even if it's not good news; it leaves a positive impression and can lead to future applications or referrals. Don't let this deter you from applying; Flexport has an important mission in revolutionizing commerce with their tech approach to the industry, which could make the long or awkward hours of freight forwarding more bearable.

First, I had a great chat with the recruiter who was really nice and efficient. Then, the second interview was with someone from the department, but it was a totally different vibe. This person, Jane Doe, was really cold and seemed unhappy, maybe stressed or just burned out. I tried to stay positive, but the interview was mostly me guessing about the industry. I wondered if it was a stress test for the job, but based on other reviews, I think I just got unlucky. I knew halfway through that I didn't want the job anymore, but I tried to finish politely. My performance suffered after I checked out mentally. The interview ended with Jane sharing a personal story, which felt a bit out of touch. I didn't get an offer. It was a rough experience, and I regret spending time on it, even though Flexport seems like a company working on something important.
