This was the strangest interview process ever! I applied for the principal SEL curriculum designer role, which was advertised as 100% remote. Then they told me I'd have to relocate to California. After that, they claimed I didn't have enough experience and that I was lucky to even be considered. Following some in-depth tasks, they offered me a junior contract position at $30/hr, with the possibility of becoming a junior curriculum developer after four weeks. It's confusing why they interviewed me for a job I apparently wasn't qualified for.

This was a complete waste of 8 minutes. I had a video chat with a manager. They seemed disinterested and rushed. They briefly introduced themselves and their role, then asked me to do the same. When they described the job, they mentioned the working days are Tuesday-Saturday, which wasn't clear in the application. When I reacted to this unexpected detail, they immediately wanted to end the call, saying they didn't want to waste time if I couldn't work those days. It felt like a rude dismissal. It did, however, give me a clear sense of the workplace culture, and I definitely won't be recommending this place.

After submitting my resume, I received an interview invitation from HR within a few days. My first interview was with Katie at the Los Altos office, and we had a great conversation. A week later, I met Peter at the same office for a second meeting, which gave me a much better understanding of FLEX. My final interview was with Anthony at the Cupertino office. It seemed like he was already very familiar with my background, and I think we both enjoyed our conversation.

The Manager of Talent Acquisition, Reena Washington, reached out on LinkedIn about FLEX's interest in setting up a Skype call with Senior Manager of HR, Katie Wells. Since I was a supervisor at a rival company, they were keen to discuss me leaving my current role to join FLEX, especially during the busy college application season.
