First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FitzMark.
Business Development
The interview process wasn't super tough or complex. First, there was a phone screening with the main recruiter, followed by an in-person interview with the branch president and the sales manager.
- Would you be willing to commit to working harder than you ever have before if you got the job?
Sales
I had a phone interview first, then an in-person one. The people were really friendly. They asked some basic questions. I also got to shadow someone who works here now, which was cool for understanding the job better.
- Can you share an instance where you had to negotiate?
Logistics Sales
FitzMark, a 3rd party logistics company, was somewhere I was really hoping to work. I was drawn to their mission of fostering strong relationships with clients and carriers. The HR team reached out by phone for a relaxed chat to get to know me and my interest in joining. After that 15-minute call, they scheduled an interview for the next week. I met with Kelly (HR Manager) and Jenny (Recruiter). They were great and focused on finding the ideal candidate to help the company grow. They asked general questions and some scenario-based ones. A few days later, they called to set up a second interview with the Sales Manager and HR Manager. In that meeting, they asked general questions, Corey (Sales Manager) got to know me better, and they asked for my take on a couple of scenarios. Corey also asked sales-related questions and described his expectations. Soon after, I job shadowed an employee for about 30 minutes, which gave me a firsthand look at the responsibilities. This was an amazing interview experience overall. The process they followed was thorough and helped them select a great fit for the open position. It made me realize FitzMark is a top-tier company aiming to be among the best in 3rd party logistics.
- I wasn't really expecting many questions about scenarios and I wasn't prepared for questions about states and time zones.
Account Manager
I applied online and got a call for a phone interview the next day. The recruiter and I chatted casually about my goals and she suggested some positions that might be a good fit for me. I had in-person interviews for two of those positions the following week and then accepted one. Everything moved pretty fast, but it didn't feel rushed, and I appreciated that the recruiter took the time to recommend other roles that could be a good match.
- Can you describe your strengths and weaknesses?
- What's your approach to handling challenging customers?
- Could you share an instance where you had a conflict with a colleague and how you managed to resolve it?
