First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fishman Public Relations.
Media Relations Coordinator
The interview with Sherri Fishman was a negative experience and made me lose interest in the position. It felt like a waste of time as I was rejected during the interview itself. It's confusing to schedule an interview when my resume was already reviewed and my experience was apparently not what they were looking for.
- Can you describe your experience relevant to this role?
Media Relations Specialist
This was a pretty unprofessional interview experience. I had an interview with Fishman a few months back and was a bit on edge during the call due to interview reviews I had read on glass door prior. I had provided multiple resources (resume, CV, personal webpage) to exemplify my experience, yet was rejected mid interview and told that I would not succeed in this role due to lack of experience. As a new grad, that was a degrading experience for a role I was excited and well-prepared to interview for.
- Can you tell me about your experience in Media Relations?
PR and Media Relations Coordinator
The interview process started with a phone interview where I was informed I wasn't qualified. Nevertheless, I was given a 3-hour writing test and then an in-person interview, thinking I might have changed the owner's mind. The in-person interview, scheduled for two hours, finished in just under an hour. Later that same day, I got a response stating I lacked sufficient experience. I really wish they had screened more carefully from the start, as the test and preparing for the in-person interview were a big time waste. My experience level was evident on my resume and should have been apparent during the initial phone screen.
- Were you asked for writing samples?
Media Specialist
Applied online and went through a phone interview, then a writing test, followed by a Skype interview, and finally an in-person interview. All interactions were with the owner, Sherri Fishman, who was very nice and helpful, and listened to what I wanted and needed.
- Can you tell me about your experience that would allow you to immediately step into the media specialist role?
