Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Firstup.
Sales Development Representative
I had a quick phone screening and then a 2.5 hour in person interview with four people. They asked usual questions and a mock sales call. After the interview, the recruiter asked me to email him explaining why I want to work for Social Chorus and in sales, and to send references. I sent the email when I got home. I followed up a week later but never heard back. Pretty annoying when they waste your time and don't even reply.
- Why Social Chorus?
- Why do you want to work in sales?
Sales Development Representative
For the SDR role at FirstUp, I went through a recruiter call, then a hiring manager interview, and finally a peer interview. The whole thing took about two weeks. But, just two hours after my last interview, I got a rejection email. I asked for feedback, but they just sent a generic rejection message. It felt unprofessional how they handled it and didn't give a good candidate experience. Just wanted to share that in case you're thinking about applying to FirstUp.
- Aside from current clients, which other companies could benefit from our Employee Intelligence Platform?
Sales Development Representative
The interview process involves a 15-minute phone screen, followed by three 30-minute video interviews. After that, there's an assignment, then an onsite interview, and finally, an offer. Management is tough but professional.
- What motivates you to pursue a career in sales?
- What specifically attracts you to our company?
- If you're not local, what makes you want to move to San Francisco?
