Technology Support Technician
The interview process was really smooth. The team was super helpful and always gave feedback and support when I was looking for a job. FirstPro helps you find a job and guides you on the way to get it.
- What kind of employment are you seeking?
Technical Support
A recruiter reached out about an open position with one of their clients and asked if I was interested. We agreed I was a good fit, and they said they'd follow up. They never did and didn't respond to my emails or calls. Communication completely broke down. Don't bother with companies that don't get back to you, even if you don't get the job. Knowing why you weren't chosen is helpful for your next job search. This company doesn't value its candidates.
- Can you tell me about your technical support experience in your current role?
Technical Recruiter
The strangest interview ever. Started with a phone call with the recruiting manager, seemed standard. Had reservations due to bad reviews but the chat went well enough to agree to the next step. Then, an in-person dinner interview with the recruiting manager and the owner's son-in-law. It went well, so they suggested a meeting with the CEO early one morning. 5 days later, I set up my schedule to be there early. But 3 days before that meeting, the recruiter who submitted me said they were moving on with other candidates. The reason given was I was unwilling to go to their office during normal business hours. They told the recruiter I suggested coming in early. This made no sense. If that time was unacceptable and I suggested it, why didn't they say so then? Because it didn't happen that way. I thought it must be a mistake, so I contacted the hiring manager for clarity. I got a reply berating me for not being available during normal business hours. I was angry, the recruiter was confused, and no one had explanations. The recruiting manager said he'd reach out after their search. After talking with the recruiter, we both agreed this wasn't the opportunity for me. I asked the recruiting manager to pull me from this and any future roles because I couldn't work for someone who lied about me and damaged my reputation. Be careful with them, they might be wasting your time. Don't believe what you're told about them; a quick Google search before my first interview showed most info was misleading, which is why I had hesitations.
- Instead of traditional interview questions, it was more of a conversation about how we each do things.
Staff Accountant
A recruiter reached out to me about setting up a meeting to discuss my background. I prepared and went in, but she wasn't there. Apparently she was on a business trip, so someone else had to take me in, which was super awkward. She was really rude and gave me unsolicited advice about interviewing for their clients, like needing to wear a black suit, have waxed eyebrows, and styled hair. I guess I was planning on showing up looking like a mess. The whole experience was terrible.
- What are your salary expectations?
