First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FIRSTMED Ambulance Services.
EMT-B
The Operations Manager was very direct and explained in detail what you're getting into. I felt really comfortable asking any questions. They gave me a clear picture of what working for an ambulance company entails and what they have to offer. Everything they mentioned in the interview was true, no cover-ups.
- What motivates your interest in working for Firstmed?
Registered Nurse
There was a written test, but it was too old and not relevant anymore. The HR person was an EMT with no HR background or education. It was a super easy interview overall!
- Was I interested in the job?
EMT
The interview process was pretty simple. It mostly involved passing a straightforward test about the scope of practice. I met with Emilio, who's basically in charge of everything. He was really friendly and understanding. Just make sure you're familiar with county policies and your NREMT skills, which you should be if you're applying anyway.
- Can you explain the LA scope of practice?
- Do you know basic NREMT skills?
EMT
The interview was really professional and pretty much what I expected. I felt ready for the questions, and nothing really surprised me. The company seemed to value my time. It was a one-on-one interview in a single room. They made sure I understood the job and what was expected. Just a heads up, you need your grey card for the offer.
- Why should we hire you?
