Director, Community Operations
The interview process was okay. I applied online and had a phone screening. Then there was an in-person interview which was good, the interviewer was nice and knew their stuff. After that, I had four more virtual interviews, each about 30 minutes, with different leaders. Everything was scheduled fine. My only issue was that at the end, they didn't communicate well. I spoke with the last leader on Monday and they asked about my salary needs pretty quickly, making me think an offer was coming soon. They said I'd hear back in 2-3 days. But it took two weeks before they finally called to say they decided to go another way, thanking me for my time. Everyone I met was nice, but I was annoyed by the lack of honesty at the end and how long it took them to tell me I didn't get the job.
- Can you tell me about how you lead?
Analytics Engineer
A third-party recruiter reached out about the role. The initial chat with them was fine, and then I was given a take-home assignment involving SQL and Python. It was pretty straightforward, but unfortunately, the position was already filled by the time I finished it, making my effort feel like a waste. I personally think it would be better to talk to a hiring manager before being assigned a take-home task. The recruiter also didn't realize the role was filled, which was disappointing.
- Could you explain how to perform simple joins and sorting in SQL?
- How would you approach parsing JSON data using a GET request in Python?
Account Executive
The interview process started with a casual and friendly chat with the head of sales and the CEO/Founder. The head of sales focused on sales-specific scenarios, asking for examples of actual sales conversations. The founder's part was more about the company's values and your general approach to your work environment.
- Can you share an instance where you lost a sale? What led to that outcome, and what insights did you gain from the experience?
Software Engineer
It was a two-round interview process. The first round involved the interviewer explaining the role and what they were looking for, from leading product development to daily tasks. This made sense since it was a small team. The interviewer was nice. They also asked some general questions about DBT. The second round was a technical interview focusing on a SQL problem using Snowflake. The interviewer in this round was not pleasant and seemed uninterested, vaping throughout and not asking clear questions, requiring clarification at times. The question itself was straightforward, and I answered it correctly. The interviewer said I did well and outlined the next steps and how to prepare. Excited about the role and the company's mission, I started preparing. After a few days of no response, I contacted the recruiter and was told I didn't advance. I was very disappointed and felt mocked, especially given the unprofessional nature of the interview and the company's mission, making me question employee and client treatment.
- Considering a fresh start, what past leadership challenges would you have approached differently?
- Using a members table with visit dates and a consent table with member times, calculate the total number of visits and the total number of visits where a member visited prior to giving consent.
