First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at First Western Financial.
Investment Associate
This was not the most professional interview experience. There were some distractions during the interview. I was ghosted after the interview, which is poor company conduct, especially for a small firm. At this stage, candidates should at least be informed about their progression, but I heard nothing from the company or the interviewer. The interviewer mentioned I would hear back, but I received no communication.
- Can you share an instance where you applied critical thinking or problem-solving to propose an improvement?
Professional Development Program Associate
It was a 2 round process. First round was a phone interview with standard scripted questions about work ethics, like how to handle a group project member that isn't contributing. The second round was in person and involved three 30-minute interviews with different people from the PDP. Each interviewer asked unique questions. One interviewer focused on my resume, another split their time between my resume and getting to know me as a person, and the last one focused solely on me as a person using some pre-written interview questions.
- Can you share an instance where you received negative feedback about your performance and describe how you responded to it?
Marketing
I was ghosted. After an initial rejection email, HR contacted me the next day for a phone interview. I suggested times later in the week, but they called that same evening at 6:30pm, asking if it was still a good time to talk. They then scheduled an in-person second interview for Christmas Eve afternoon, which I couldn't make. We rescheduled for the following week. A third in-person interview happened about two weeks later. After another two weeks without hearing back, I emailed HR about my interest and for a status update but got no reply. I felt disrespected and like my time was wasted.
- Can you describe your proficiency with different software and platforms?
Marketing Coordinator
It started off pretty simple. I got a call from HR and did a quick phone interview right then. Then, they had me come in for an in-person chat with the director of the department, which went for about an hour. After that, I was called back for a second in-person interview with some of the folks I'd be working with. This one was a few hours long. They said I'd hear back early the next week. It's been over a month and I still haven't gotten even a quick email saying they went with someone else.
- Can you tell me about a marketing trend you see as important for this job?
