The ESL job interview in China was good. They asked interesting questions and had a friendly atmosphere, focusing on how to actually teach. I'm excited about the chance to help them reach their educational goals. They were very attentive and had a positive vibe, and they answered all my questions.

I first applied on www.firstleapchina.com through the 'Apply Now' button and filling out the form. They emailed me about two days later to schedule interviews. There were two interviews in total, both over Skype. The first one was an introductory Q&A that lasted about twenty minutes where I mostly asked about the job, work location, and general conditions. I found most of the answers on their website later. The second interview, also on Skype, required me to prepare and demonstrate a sample lesson. Due to what I guess was a slow internet connection for an interactive demo, I ended up filming a short clip with my phone, uploading it to YouTube, and then discussing it with the interviewer after they watched it.

I applied on their website and was asked to do a demo, but there wasn't really an interview. I currently work for a really big and well-known ESL company, but I didn't get past their demo. Their example demo was pretty bad too, with the teacher drinking on camera and rushing through the lesson... super unprofessional! That was the first sign. After seeing all the bad reviews, I'm actually glad I didn't get hired. I'll stick with the big-name ESL companies. It's hard to find info about this company, which usually means it's not great.

The hiring process was very professional and helpful. Paperwork was easy and sorted out. The staff were really friendly and the training was so much fun! Any questions I had were handled quickly and efficiently. The process involved an introduction, a demo lesson, and then training in China.
