So the interview process is pretty standard, it's three rounds. First, you'll chat with a recruiter over the phone. If that goes well, you'll then talk to the manager or coordinator for the role you're applying for. Finally, for the last round, you'll meet with someone more senior, depending on the specific position. They start off with behavioral questions, but as you get further in, they'll ask more technical and experience-based questions.

I went through 3 rounds. First was HR, just a basic intro to the company. Second, I talked to a VP and director on the team for about 30 mins. They asked about my background, got to know me, and wanted to understand the company and clients I'd work with. The last interview was also 30 mins, with 2 team members who would be on the client team I'd join. It was another get-to-know-you chat!

I just went through the first few steps at First Agency, a big global brand agency, and thought I'd share my experience to help others. I only got to the initial screening call, but it felt really professional and gave me a glimpse into their vibe and what they look for. Here’s the rundown: First, I applied online through their careers page, sending in my resume, a cover letter I customized, and a link to my portfolio. The application itself was simple, but I made sure to emphasize my relevant background and how it fit with what the agency does in branding and new ideas. Then, about a week later, an HR person called me for a 30-minute phone screening. It was a pretty relaxed chat where we talked about my background, why I was interested in this specific job, and if I knew what the agency was all about. The recruiter was nice and asked things like, 'Why First Agency?' and 'What's your experience with X?' They also told me about the agency's culture and the potential team. Even though I didn't move on, I appreciated how open and professional the whole thing was.

I had a 30 minute initial phone interview with Tom Laffey, who is the First Recruiter. He was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire process; he's the best recruiter I have worked with. He asked me a few generic questions about my experience, why First, and why this position. He told me that he would follow up the following Wednesday, and he did. I interviewed in NYC as an implant at Morgan Stanley. It was a very easy, accommodating process. Unfortunately, I did not get an offer, but I was notified as soon as possible. It was a great Recruiter that made the process easy and did not leave me with anxious anticipation.
