Teller
I applied through a recruiting site, and after a few months, a recruiter contacted me to confirm my interest. She then set up a brief phone interview with HR for the next day. Later that same day, the recruiter called again to schedule an in-person interview for the following Monday. This interview lasted about 30 minutes and felt very relaxed, with two interviewers. Shortly after leaving, the recruiter called to say a personality assessment test was sent, which was the next step. I completed it the same day, and the day after, HR called with a job offer, noting the salary is non-negotiable.
- Can you share an experience where you....
- Describe your previous work experiences.
- What salary are you expecting?
Compliance Officer
I interviewed for a compliance role and had to go in person to meet with people upstairs at the main office in Hammond. The building is pretty old and is very, very odd, and seems somewhat like a 70s super-villain lair. We spent about an hour having a pleasant conversation and talking about my prior experience and qualifications. People seemed friendly. I felt it was very likely that a job offer would be forthcoming. After a couple of weeks I was told that I was not selected because my salary requirements (which were only the average for the industry and area) were “too high.” They should have got that settled before inviting me for an interview. This just highlights the absurdity of a company choosing to post a position (or worse, interview for it) without explicitly stating what its target pay range will be. Pro-tip: Read the reviews of current employees on Glassdoor before spending time applying here, focusing on reviews that use the word “pay” or “salary.”
- Can you provide a general overview of yourself, with details focusing on the job listing's duties?
- Tell me about yourself
- What are your salary requirements?
Graphic Designer
I was trying to move back to the Hammond area and saw this job opening. After applying, I got an email asking me to come in for an interview. Since I live out of state, I politely asked if a virtual interview was possible. The hiring contact said yes and I gave her a few times that worked for me. After that, she never replied. I was ghosted before we could even have the interview. Makes me wonder about how disorganized this place might be to work for.
- The interviewer ghosted me after I was selected for an interview.
Deposit Specialist
The interviewer was really knowledgeable and gave me a lot of info about the job description and how the department works. They seemed friendly and curious, and genuinely interested in what I could bring to the company, not just my past experience. Overall, I was happy with how the interview went.
- Are you familiar with the duties and responsibilities of this position?
