First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at First Commonwealth Bank.
Financial Solutions Specialist
It was a super friendly and easy interview process. They started with a quick phone chat, then I had a 30-minute in-person meeting. During the meeting, they talked about the job and the salary, and we discussed my career goals, my strong points, and my past experiences.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your goals?
- What are your strengths?
- What achievements are you most proud of?
Financial Solutions Specialist
I had a short phone call with a recruiter, then an in-person interview with the Branch Manager at two different branches for the same job. I never heard back from either, which felt like ghosting and a waste of my time. One manager made a comment about "we don't keep dead weight people around long" when I asked about sales and referral goals.
- Tell me about a situation where you exceeded expectations in customer service.
Financial Services Associate
I applied online and got a call the same day. We scheduled an interview for the next day. I interviewed with the hiring manager and the Lead of Financial Services. It was a great interview! They asked basic questions and shared a lot of info about the role. I learned what I'd be doing and what to expect. They thought I'd be a perfect fit. I sent a thank you email that night and got a reply saying she looks forward to speaking with me soon. About 4 days later, they contacted my references, and the next day I got a job offer. It was a fast and professional process, and I'm very happy.
- Describe an instance where you developed a solution to improve a situation.
Teller
The interview process was good, very understanding and friendly. They asked appropriate questions. I had two interviews, which is more than most people said they had. The first interview was with a group of people at the richland branch, where they asked a series of questions. After that, I went to the windber branch for a second interview. In the second interview, two people interviewed me, and it was more one-on-one, focusing on figuring out my personality rather than asking as many questions.
- Tell me about your cash handling skills.
