It was a pretty standard interview, you know, old school. They started with a call from HR for a screening, then I went to the branch for an interview with the manager and a senior operations services supervisor. They mostly asked situational questions, like asking me to share an experience where I messed up at work. It felt like they were more focused on getting standard answers than really learning about me as a candidate.

Got a call from the recruiter, they thought I'd be a good fit so we moved on. Then I had the branch interview. It was pretty chill, but still professional. We were in a big conference room, and since it was Covid, we each sat at our own tables.

Two employees interviewed me for a $11/hr teller position. They asked if I had any cash handling experience and I said I had worked at a coffee shop and used the register and counted down the drawer at the end of the day. They kind of looked at each other and laughed. I felt like I was being mocked for not having what they considered “good enough” cash handling experience. I would argue the teller position is entry level and they shouldn’t expect someone willing to accept that rate of pay to have years of experience.
