First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at First Bank.
Bank Teller
It's pretty straightforward, you'll chat with the branch manager and assistant manager. They'll want to know your schedule and if you've handled cash before. They need to be sure you can be trusted with a lot of cash and that you'll balance everything out at the end of your shift, so no money is unaccounted for.
- What's your experience with handling cash?
- Have you reconciled a cash drawer by yourself at a past job?
Customer Service Representative
I applied for a Customer Service Representative role at one location and received a call from the manager about 30 minutes later. She asked me to come in for an interview the next afternoon. During the interview, we discussed the job, cash handling, sales experience, and my career expectations and goals. The manager seemed very interested and mentioned she would forward my information to HR to proceed with the next steps. After about a month of waiting with no updates, I applied at a different location. About a week later, I got a call back, interviewed a few days after that, and received a job offer the following week.
- Tell me about your cash handling experience.
- Describe your sales experience.
- What are your expectations for this role and your long-term goals with the company?
Personal Banker
The interviewer was nice but thorough. They asked me what I would do if a customer was angry because of a bank error and how I would cross-sell bank products. Overall, it was a good interview, but I turned down the position because the salary wasn't enough.
- What is your strategy for promoting checking accounts?
- How would you approach meeting sales goals?
SBA Underwriter
They asked me to explain my resume and the reasons for my job changes. The interviewer asked if I planned on leaving jobs quickly. The conversation ended abruptly after I explained my resume history.
- Can you walk me through your resume and explain the frequent job changes?
- Do you have a tendency to leave jobs quickly?
- How do you utilize analytics in your underwriting process?
