Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Firmenich.
Scientist
So, the first interview was a phone interview, directly with two senior scientists. They wanted to know if I had prior experience with the formulation techniques needed for this role. They also asked about my Ph.D. work, focusing on technical questions related to my formulation experience. They inquired about my publication count, my willingness to travel (and the percentage), and my career goals and path.
- Do you have any experience with polymers?
Scientist
The interview process was pretty straightforward. I had two interviews in total, one with the hiring manager and another with a team member. Both interactions were very comfortable, and the interviewers were quite open and shared a lot of details about the job. There was also a personality test and I had to answer some general questions in writing, like about my motivations for joining, my suitability for the role, and my career goals.
- Tell me about something you are most proud of.
- What makes you want to join this company?
- How would you be a good fit for this position?
Chemist
It was super relaxed, more like a chat than an official interview. Honestly, this has been the quickest and easiest interview process I've gone through with any company. It was very well-organized and just a great experience overall.
- Can you share an instance where you had to seek assistance?
