First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Finder.
Marketing Coordinator
It was a pretty standard interview process, quite conversational and friendly. I met with a nice manager in their Sydney office a few years back. The office itself was cool, with a space theme and a stocked kitchen.
- Show me examples of work you've done before.
- Can you tell me about some situations you've encountered?

Digital Marketing Manager
So the interview process started with a HR phone call. Honestly, I felt like they weren't super clear about the job itself. I applied for a 'manager' position, but the pay seemed more like for a specialist. They said these roles were kind of the same, or maybe I misunderstood something. I was a bit thrown by the difficulty of the questions in the first round; usually, you expect easier questions first, but it felt more like a second round.
- Can you share your proudest work achievement and its outcome?
CRM Manager
It was a pretty standard interview process: first, there was a screener interview, then I interviewed with the hiring manager. After that, I had to give a presentation to the hiring manager and some colleagues, and the whole thing wrapped up with a casual chat with the CEO. The presentation was all about coming up with a CRM strategy for a specific situation or challenge they threw at me. They then asked me about my thinking on some parts of that strategy.

Staff Writer
Applied online and heard back about 10 days later. Scheduled the interview for six days out. Red flag 1: Two hours before, they emailed saying they messed up and the interviewer wasn't available. Rescheduled for the next day. Red flag 2: Interview went well, but they realized they needed a Crypto expert, not a personal finance expert (despite me interviewing for personal finance). They liked me, though, and passed my info to a manager in a different division for an insurance writer role. I interviewed via Zoom with two people and it went great. They invited me to a trial day. Red flag 3: The trial day was rough; I was given an article to write about a specific vehicle's insurance, with a detailed outline. But, that vehicle isn't out until next year, so there was no insurance info available, making the outline impossible. They gave me a different article, which I completed fine, including bonus tasks, though I was annoyed by the disorganization. Red flag 4: Eight days later, HR emailed apologizing for the delay due to unforeseen business changes and promised an update the following week. Red flag 5: No update ever came. Red flag 6: I waited 10 days, followed up, and heard nothing back. One editor had only four years of insurance experience compared to my 15. Run.
