First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Findem.
Data Engineer
So I interviewed at Findem in 2025 for a Senior Data Engineer role. The interview process had 4 rounds, and included a take-home assignment which was quite time-consuming. I thought I was progressing to the final stages, and things were looking good. But then, complete silence. I followed up but got no update, no rejection, nothing. This was odd, especially considering they're in HRTech, so you'd expect better communication. If you're going to ask for a significant time commitment from candidates, at least give them an update or closure, particularly for senior positions. This suggests either disorganization, a lack of respect for candidates, or maybe they just ghost people when their internal priorities change.
- How would you implement recursive flattening for JSON data?
- Write a function to find unique values within specified intervals.
Head of Sales
I spoke with the recruiter and they said I was moving forward to interview with the CRO. Scheduling that interview was really hard because the CRO was traveling and unavailable. It took a week to set up, and then it was another week away, so two weeks after I first spoke to the recruiter. The morning of the interview, after I'd prepped, the recruiter called to say someone else took the job. I appreciated the heads-up, but it was a bummer, especially after waiting two weeks. Felt like I was being led on and didn't get a real shot. How a company handles hiring says a lot about its culture, and this wasn't a good look.
- Can you describe your leadership style?
Marketing
It was a bit long. I met around 7 people over 3 days, and then the CEO and CTO. After that, there was another interview and a final presentation. The whole thing took about a month to 6 weeks.
- Can you walk me through your responsibilities and achievements at your previous employer?
Software Engineer
This was the most pathetic interview experience I've ever had. The panel was unprofessional and made excuses for being late even after rescheduling twice. It was a phone screening round where the interviewer mostly talked about himself. He cut me off during my introduction and started asking questions without understanding my background. It felt like a waste of time because the job description focused on Spark and AWS, but they kept asking about streaming technology. It seemed like the interviewer was set on rejecting me from the start. My advice is not to waste your time interviewing here; there are better companies with more professional interviewers.
- Can you explain what Kafka is?
- What do you know about Predicate pushdown?
- Could you detail the internals of Parquet?
