I was offered to interview through a request to connect on LinkedIn. Discussions were productive and friendly throughout the process. I was offered the role, and made clear I was planning to accept. I requested a slight extension on my start date to wrap up commitments at my current role, and permission was given via email. However, I also had questions about the hybrid schedule as I would have a somewhat long (but still reasonable) commute on days I would be in the office, and wanted written confirmation of what my schedule would be so I could plan effectively prior to my start date, The schedule had been given to me verbally on two occasions during the interview, but some information seemed vague and I wanted to make sure nothing was misunderstood. The response I received was to immediately rescind the offer over email, without further discussion, and there was no follow-up when I attempted to reach out again. I do not recommend interviewing with this organization.

A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn about the Director, Lead Gen role and asked me to apply. I applied and let the recruiter know. Then, instead of hearing back from the recruiter, I got an email from FRT asking for my availability for a phone screen. I sent my availability to the recruiter via LinkedIn, and again, radio silence. I followed up with the company via email, mentioning I hadn't heard back. They replied that my phone screen was scheduled. I got an email confirming it, and then about an hour before it was supposed to start, it was canceled. All of this happened within a single week. Wild!

The interview process was pretty smooth. It had 3 rounds: first, a 30-minute phone screen with HR, then a meeting with the SVP of Client Services, a Director of Client Services, and my future manager. Lastly, there was a 3-hour interview process with 3 executives: the COO and two Directors of Client Services. The whole thing was virtual since I was out of state. They mentioned in the second interview that they need to hire someone quickly and are looking to fill the role ASAP. The whole process, from setting up the initial call to getting and accepting the offer, took about 4-6 weeks. They really care about soft skills and culture fit, so emphasize that. If you don't have much finance background but have transferable skills, make sure to really highlight that. Bring questions to show you're invested. Be personable and be ready to talk confidently about a few things from your resume that you're proud of. They read my resume and asked about it, so be prepared to explain projects in detail and how they relate to the position.

So I had two phone interviews initially, then had to come in for two separate, long round-robin interview sessions. Each session involved meeting with 3-6 people, one after another, for about 30 minutes each, and they all asked the same questions. They said I'd hear back in about a week, but it took two months. By then, I'd already accepted an offer from another company I interviewed with the week prior. Turns out, I wasn't the right fit. Honestly, the whole process felt unprofessional; if you're going to have people interview with colleagues at all levels, at least have the courtesy to let them know if they're not selected.
