First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Financial Independence Group.
Intern
I found the internship opening on Indeed and submitted my application. About a week later, I was contacted for an initial HR conversation that took about half an hour. They were specifically recruiting for interns to start in the spring.
- What made you decide to apply to FIG?
Operations Specialist
Had a phone interview with the VP. Then, there was an in-person interview with two managers at the same time. After that, I shadowed the position for about 30 minutes, and then went back to one of the managers who interviewed me and they said they would be in touch. Heard back within the next 2 days.
- What is an area where you lack skill?
Sales Consultant
Had a phone call with HR, then met with HR in person. After that, I met with sales managers in person, and finally, the executive team in person. The Executive Team interview is a bit nerve racking because you will be put on the spot about a number of random things. Just keep cool, answer with confidence and enthusiasm and everything will be good.
- How would your past experience be helpful for this position, especially given you're coming from a different industry with a different sales process?
- Can you manage the transition from your previous industry and sales process to this role?
- Do you possess the necessary intelligence for this role?
Case Manager
This entry-level role had a 3-stage interview process. The first interview was a one-on-one with HR. The second interview involved HR and the Supervisor. The third interview included HR, the Supervisor, and some upper management folks. It felt a bit excessive for an entry-level job, almost like applying for a very senior position.
