There were 2 interviewers. They asked several questions about skills and behavior. I think it's a points-based system, highest score wins. The interview was about 45 minutes. The questions themselves aren't super hard, but you need to give enough detail to get top marks, which I struggled with at first. I got feedback after my first interview which helped me figure out what they were looking for.

The interview started with an ice-breaker question, asking me to introduce myself. Then, there were about five simple questions focused on my personal experiences, like teamwork and past situations. None of the questions were specific to housing management. Overall, it was a great interview because it gave me a chance to talk about myself and my transferable skills.

After my probation year, I had a really quick interview process from the general applicant pool. There were two interviewers, who were both headteachers from nearby schools, and they asked me five standard questions covering safeguarding, teaching and learning, assessment, and relationships in school.

I applied online and had to book my interview online via an email sent to me, but there was no confirmation of the booking, who to ask for, or where to go. I figured it out myself! When I got there, I signed in and was told to wait separately. The interviewers were 15 minutes late and didn't apologize, which I thought was rude given they talk about 'How We Work Matters'. I wasn't offered a drink, but there was a mug of water on the table, which I wasn't sure about drinking. The interview felt very scripted and outdated; it really needs an overhaul. Fife Council seems tired, I'd rather be on the dole!
