Software Engineer
I got contacted on LinkedIn and had a phone chat with a technical recruiter. Then, I went through an hour-long live coding test, kind of like LeetCode. I felt pretty good about it. After that, I did a take-home assessment and then a 3-hour "on-site" interview. The 3-hour on-site was a bit much, honestly. It was like 3 interviews back-to-back, and I had to take time off work for it. Felt like a waste of my time since I didn't get an offer and clearly messed something up. It would have been better if they spaced them out so the later ones could be canceled if I didn't do well early on, saving me time off my current job for a job I won't get. The technical deep dive was confusing; they didn't give much direction on what they were looking for, so I think that's where I messed up. The system design question was for just one user, which also threw me off since I prepared for more typical questions. They rejected me saying the role was filled, which felt impersonal after I spent over 10 hours interviewing and prepping. The company culture seemed really good though, I just wish the interview process was more manageable for someone working full-time.
- Could you design Dropbox for a single user with multiple devices?
Business Development Manager
After an initial screening, I was scheduled for an interview three weeks later. This was then postponed by another week and subsequently cancelled three days before it was due to take place, with no explanation. About a month later, the company contacted me again, stating they had an open position (which I couldn't find on their website). The Hiring Manager seemed completely disinterested during the interview, not asking any questions about my resume or experience. Essentially, it felt like a fake interview for a non-existent role. Unprofessional and a disorganized company.
- What makes you the right candidate for us?
- How would you engage virtually with a team not located in your region?
QA Automation Engineer
The process was a bit long. However, the recruiters kept in constant communication that gave us reassurance that they were actively working on making this process as smooth as possible. The interviews were clearly explained what each was going to be about and the focus for each. Recruiter was available if we had any questions. Probably one of the best company recruiter we have worked with through an interview process. The employees interviewing me seemed to be prepared with the questions they had prepared for me. They were respectful and easy to communicate to be able to feel comfortable to ask questions.
- What is your definition of clean code?
Frontend Engineer
Beware. Like the other reviews stated, this company has been posting fake job postings with no intention to hire, including for this role. Don't waste your time interviewing with this company. Interview process: Phone screen with recruiter, then you will have 1 hour interview with an engineering manager. It's mainly a discussion about the role and company itself and any questions you might have. After that, you have the option to do the take-home challenge or not. You have a week to complete and submit the take-home challenge and on the virtual onsite, you will have a 1 hr interview for the extension of the take-home challenge. If you did not choose to do the take-home, you will have a different interview in place of this one: It will be a 1.5 hour session with a live coding challenge and pairing. Depending on whether you pass this round or not, you will move on to 2 x 1 hr interviews: One technical deep dive on a project and one on systems design.
- Can you design a system like Google Drive, considering aspects such as storage, retrieval, scalability, and efficiency?
- For the take-home assignment, could you build a gallery that utilizes a provided API and includes search functionality?
