Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fidelity International.
Graduate Trainee
Good process - got to speak to a member of the team face to face which was a positive. Mostly based around interest in the role and previous experience in bottom up research.
- Tell me about a news item that affects a specific group of equities.
Graduate Trainee
The interview process involved a job simulation, some behavioral questions, and tasks requiring video responses. Many questions focused on ESG and customer-centricity. Finally, there were two video interview questions.
- Can you describe your strengths and explain how they would be most valuable if you were to join our team?
Graduate Program
Went through an extremely long assessment with calculations and scenarios and got through it, but I realised they sent me an email that I got through the online assessment on Sunday night and had to do another assessment, the next morning when I checked my e-mail, they said the deadline was missed and that my application will no longer be considered. What kind of potential employer sends an assessment on a Sunday night (that expires on Sunday midnight) and expects a candidate to be at their beck and call on a weekend, and declining the application immediately? Don't think it's very reasonable and the whole process was an utter waste of time and effort, reflects insincerity on the recruiters part and a waste of the candidate's effort in trying to genuinely apply.
