First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund.
Marketing Associate
Went through three interviews and also had a mock assignment. The last interview was a panel. Everyone was super nice and emphasized the nonprofit vibe over a finance one. Didn't end up getting the offer, but I did make it to the final round. Doing a marketing plan assignment without pay wasn't ideal, but overall it was a good experience.
- What is your approach to launching a new development campaign?
Client Service Representative
I had a phone chat with the recruiter first, which lasted about 20 mins. They asked some basic stuff about why I applied and how my experience fits the job. Then, a few days later, I went in for an in-person interview. That one was mostly behavioral questions, you know, typical interview stuff. Since it's a phone-based job focused on customer service, they really wanted to see how I'd handle talking to customers.
- How would you handle a customer who is angry?
Marketing
The interview process was pretty standard: first a call with the recruiter, then a chat with the hiring manager. After that, I had to go in for a half-day to meet four people from the department and the recruiter. The final steps included an in-person interview with the head of the department and a phone interview with the head of the sales team. Everyone was really nice and I enjoyed talking to them. It felt a bit overwhelming because I met so many people, though. I didn't face any tough questions; they were mostly focused on my background and career aspirations.
- The most difficult part was the half-day session, and I was completely drained by lunchtime.
Intern
I had two zoom interviews. The first was with a recruiter and was just board questions. The second was with the manager and focused more on my past experiences and how I would fit within the company and the role.
- Tell me about a time you had to manage your time.
- How do you manage your time and stay on top of your tasks?
