This is a super competitive role, especially if you're not coming from an internship. The first two rounds are one-on-one chats with Portfolio Managers (PMs), where they'll check out your passion and skills, covering both technical and behavioral stuff. The last round is an in-person stock pitch where you'll present to about 20 PMs. The team here is sharp, so make sure you're prepped.

The interview was super fast, like it was rushed because it was already late in the day. The two interviewers seemed totally uninterested in my resume and gave me the vibe they already picked someone, which felt a bit disrespectful. I felt like it was a waste of my time and didn't even get a rejection. It's been about a month since then.

The interview process was a mess. I was initially told there would be just one phone screen and two interviews, then a decision. But it turned into 5 interviews, one of which was in French, which wasn't even mentioned in the job description. I ended up withdrawing my application because it felt like they didn't respect candidates' time and value. They didn't provide updates when they said they would, and the expectations kept changing. During one interview with the hiring manager, she called me by the wrong name and asked really strange, odd questions that made me doubt the company culture. When I thought I was getting updates from HR as promised, I reached out to the hiring managers directly. Minutes later, HR called me back and told me never to email the hiring managers again. It was a total lack of respect, transparency, and value for candidates and their time. Very disappointing! Be sure to ask for clear timelines and expectations. I know others who applied for the same role and HR just ghosted them.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

My experience with Fidelity Canada was great! The HR rep was super helpful throughout, always giving deadlines for results and usually reaching out before they were due. They were proactive in setting up the interviews and made me feel comfortable. The interviewers were calm and asked relevant questions. There were 4 rounds: First, a quick 15min HR phone call about the job and salary. Then, a 50-60min techno-behavioral panel interview with two team members where they asked about my experience and walked through my resume. After that, a 30min behavioral interview with the hiring manager, more like a conversation to gauge my teamwork and problem-solving skills. Finally, I was given a case study a few days before, and I had to present my analysis to a panel, followed by a few questions about my approach.
