Merchandise Pricing Analyst
It started with an HR screening where they asked about my knowledge of tools and software, and then there was one scenario-based question. If that went well, I had a 45-minute interview with the team and manager. During that, I was asked about my background and then a bunch of situational and behavioral questions.
- Tell me about a time you had to recommend something to management.
- How do you deal with a coworker who isn't being productive?
Fulfillment Planner
I met first with three individuals that lead the department. Very typical interview, asking the usual questions. HR is not involved in the interview. If selected for a second interview, which would be with the VP, it will be set up by HR. Was told by HR that the second interview would be approx an hour of personality/situational questions. At the interview, I was not asked a single situational question. It was all technical. Very misleading by HR, and I wasn't as prepared as I could have been because of this.
- Do you prefer working alone or with others?
- What's the most helpful criticism you've received from a manager?
- How does your education connect with this job?
Business Analyst
Got referred by someone I know. HR called me for a quick chat with some basic questions. The job description was super vague. I went in for an interview with the hiring managers, but only one of the three people promised showed up (and it wasn't the main manager). They said a decision would be made in less than a week. I followed up after a week, and HR gave a vague response that nothing was decided or I wasn't chosen. About a week and a half later, I reached out to the manager who interviewed me for an update. Less than an hour later, another HR manager emailed me, scolding me for contacting anyone but HR and telling me I wasn't selected lol.
- What did you do in response to events in your previous roles?
Sales Associate
It was pretty easy and they made me feel welcome. I applied for a Sales Associate position, focusing on hard goods. They asked me stuff about sports, like which ones I played and how much I knew about them technically. They also asked about when I could work and how dedicated I was.
- Tell me about the sports you've played.
- What's your technical knowledge level regarding sports?
- What's your availability like?
