First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fenton.
Director
I met with 2 people, and they asked some questions but it seemed like they were just trying to get a feel for how I would handle certain situations. It was really unclear what they were looking for in the person they hired.
- Could you describe how you would approach a given situation?
- There was a case study provided.
Account Director
It was a fast and informative process! HR was super communicative throughout. We had a couple of rounds and a writing test. The interviewers seemed prepared and sharp. HR kept me in the loop constantly. The offer came quickly and the onboarding was smooth too.
- Can you share your experience with media relations?
- Tell me about a situation where you had to handle a challenging client.
Graphic Designer
So the interview wasn't really an interview, more like the HR rep just talked for 55 minutes straight. They didn't ask me anything. It was weird, they told me stories about past employees and described the office spaces. Near the end, they asked a couple of odd questions about whether my last company was a non-profit and its funding sources. I was told my background was a perfect fit and I'd hear back, but after following up a bunch, I never did. It's odd given Fenton's reputation.
- Was your previous company a non-profit?
- Where does your previous company get its funding from?
Fenton Fellows Program
The interview process started with an initial phone interview where they asked for background info. Then there was a second interview which consisted of 2 interviews with 4 people total, and it was in-depth regarding skills and interests in Fenton. I was initially nervous over the phone, but felt really comfortable in the 2nd interview.
- How would you manage working on multiple projects with deadlines?
