Gameplay Engineer
I applied to CCP in the evening and was rejected the morning after. A colleague with the same skillset and role, but less seniority and industry experience, got an initial screening call. It seems like my CV or portfolio wasn't reviewed, and I don't understand why my colleague was considered while I wasn't even given a chance to speak. I asked for feedback on my rejection to improve my future applications, but received no response. The disparity in outcomes for no clear reason is very strange.

Product Operations Specialist
The interview process was 8 weeks long and I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for a senior product role requiring relocation to Reykjavik. The role was a great fit so I decided to proceed. It involved 4 stages: an initial recruiter screening, a technical screening, a take-home test, and a final call with the department head. The team was nice and accommodating of my busy schedule, allowing extra time for the take-home assignment. The entire process took 4 weeks. I was told it could take up to 3 weeks for a decision. During those 3 weeks, I received positive feedback from the recruiter and another recruiter. Almost 4 weeks later, I hadn't heard anything, so I emailed to follow up and received no response. I then reached out to the recruiter on LinkedIn, who said an internal candidate applied and I'd get a decision that day. I didn't. The following Monday, I got a rejection letter saying I was close but they chose an internal candidate. It felt like I was led on for a long time, only to lose out to a last-minute internal applicant.
- I don't remember the questions because it was so long ago.
Software Engineer
My journey with CCP Games was outstanding. It started with a screening call from HR, then an interview with David, followed by another with Kris, and finished with a technical interview with Hjalti. The whole recruitment process was thorough and showed their dedication to finding the right talent. I met Kristinn at DevConnect and ETHGlobal events too, which was great. Although I turned down other offers for this role, I was disappointed to learn it was offered to someone else. This was partly my fault due to communication delays. I still really admire CCP Games for their innovation and work environment. I highly recommend joining them.
- Could you discuss your experience with web3-related topics?
Senior Manager
It was a 3 step interview process. The first two steps went really well, the HR contact was very professional and organized. The last step was a total mess though, the two associates who would have reported to me were super rude and said things like "Why should we trust what is on your CV?", "What is the proof that what you are saying is true?", "Your CV doesn't look good" and made jokes about my family background and mixed origins. I told HR the next day, but I got the rejection notification right before.
- Can you describe your approach to implementing improvements?
- What makes you confident we should believe your CV?
- What evidence do you have to support your claims?
