First, there was a 20-minute screener where they wanted to see if you could sell them the firm. Then, a 2-hour callback interview over zoom. This was mostly about getting to know you. Everyone was really friendly and open. They said to email questions, but a few didn't.

I met with two of the partners, and they were quite pleasant. I did feel though that the firm leans towards being an "all men" environment, and I noticed a lack of diversity during the interview process. The experience itself was positive, feeling more like a casual conversation than a formal interview, with one partner doing most of the talking. Although I didn't receive an offer, I don't hold any ill feelings about it.

This happened at Jones Vargas before it was acquired by Fennemore Craig. I had a brief chat with two partners. They were nice, but I think I could've prepped more. One went to my law school and threw some curveballs. They asked about my past work, classes, and what I did outside of academics. There were also some questions about my behavior. They really wanted to know if I intended to stay in the area after graduating.
