First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Felton Institute.
Writer
I had a nice phone call, then a Zoom meeting, and finally an in-person interview. I thought it went pretty well, and they said I'd hear back either way. But then they ghosted me after the in-person part, and I never heard anything back. It was super disappointing and felt really disrespectful. It's not that hard to just send an email saying you went with someone else.
- Can you talk about your previous experience working collaboratively with a team?
Clinical Case Manager
I got an email from a manager and we arranged to speak on the phone. Then had video interview with her and one of the supervisors. Then had in-person interview with supervisor, the person I'd be replacing, and two other people on the team. At each interview, they told me that I should think about if I was interested in proceeding, and if so I should email them to schedule another interview--it was a nice touch when hiring people right out of school who might not be familiar with the process.
- How do you practice self-care?
- Can you share an instance where you resolved a conflict with a coworker?
- Client vignette.
Marketing and Communications
The interview process was pretty long, maybe because they were going through some transitions which could have slowed things down. But overall, it was a good experience. I went through four interviews and a technology test. It took about four months from the first interview until I got the offer. The interviews themselves were good, and everyone I spoke with was friendly.
- How much experience do you have with website management?
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this position?
- Describe your strategy for social media engagement for a mental health nonprofit.
Administrative Manager
Had a really thorough interview panel. Everyone was super nice. They asked over 16 questions, which took up almost the entire hour. There was barely any time left for me to ask about the company or the role.
- Can you tell me about your best quality?
- What about your worst quality?
