I found the job through Handshake and submitted my resume. A referral also helped. It seems like they don't use Handshake much, so it's a good idea to connect with the department directly to let them know you've applied. After that, I had an interview that covered both behavioral and technical aspects.

The head of department interviewed me directly, with no HR involved. She didn't seem to know how to interview and hadn't read my resume. The interview felt like it went really well, but then I heard nothing back. I didn't even get a response to my follow-up email, which I found really unprofessional.

The interview began with a Zoom call with the search committee. Following that, there was an all-day on-campus interview where I met with different groups. Interestingly, HR was not involved at any point, though I was given a folder with information. Also, the direct report wasn't leading the search committee, which I found quite noteworthy.
