Had a video call with the recruiter. They said the next step would be with the Hiring Manager/team. Got contacted quickly since my experience was a good fit and the interview was set for the next day. It was basically the same as the HR Screen. Had general questions like "Tell me about yourself" and also more specific ones like "Tell me about a challenging time". Didn't have much time to go into detail because it was only 30 minutes and they spent a good part of it talking about the company. It really seemed like they just wanted to make sure my experience and salary expectations lined up. I think I met all the requirements. About 10 days later, I was told I wasn't moving forward. The reason they gave was that there were many applicants and they had to make quick decisions. Seemed a bit odd since I was a close match, but as an applicant, you never know who else is applying.

The interview process started with a phone chat with the HR Manager. He seemed nice and was easy to talk to. He mentioned that his questions were from a questionnaire designed to see if a candidate is a good fit for the next steps. The questions were pretty direct. The interviewer brought up concerns about the commute. In fact, the commute was the first thing we talked about before the actual interview questions. I applied for this job thinking it was in Columbia, MD, as advertised. However, the position is actually in Linthicum, MD, which was a deal-breaker for me.

  • The actual job is in Linthicum, MD. What are your thoughts on that commute?

The interview process started with a phone screening by the HR recruiter where they asked basic questions. Then, I had a round with the hiring manager to discuss my work experience. Following that, there was a panel interview with team members where they focused on behavioral questions and included a few technical ones. The final stage was an interview with another manager.
